HOW IS THE WEATHER IN ICELAND IN FEBRUARY?

The weather in Iceland is tricky. There is

a good reason for the many hundreds

and thousands of words Icelanders have

for different kind of weather phenomena.

In general the temperature stays around 0 °C but occasionally goes down -5-10 or up to

5-10. The weather can change quite abruptly so you are always prepared for everything.

At one moment it may be still and sunny, the next heavy with wind and rain or snow.

We do, however, have excellent 24/7 weather and road services. You can always check out

the weather forecast here or here and get information about the weather condition

of the roads here.

WHAT KIND OF INDOOR AND OUTDOOR CLOTHES SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

Houses are heated with geothermal energy

at a very nice temperature. You are rarely

cold indoors in Iceland. As for the outdoor clothes we highly recommend bringing a warm jumper, a parka or a thick jacket,

warm socks, thick gloves, sturdy boots,

thick headwear, a scarf etc. Think of what you would wear if you were going skiing.

Don’t forget to bring your swim gear and

a towel, there are plenty of hot springs

to dip in.
